Jason

I was saved at a young age in a children’s church ministry.  I still remember the feeling of conviction when the invitation was given. I knew that I had to make a decision to submit my life to Jesus Christ and accept His payment for my sins.

At the age of twelve my family moved from New England to Chattanooga, TN where I began attending Calvary Christian School.  I had attended Christian school my entire life, but Calvary Christian School was the first place I ever began to understand what it meant to have an ongoing relationship with Christ.  Christ was integrated into every part of the curriculum and this changed my life. I really began to grow in my relationship with the Lord due to the godly teaching at Calvary.

In 1992 I graduated from Calvary Christian School and in 1994 I began attending Northland Baptist Bible College. To complete the requirements for my missions major I took a missions apprenticeship trip to Barquisimeto, Venezuela where I served with Carlos Arce, a veteran missionary. At the time I did not realize how God would use this trip in my heart and mind.  I returned from my trip and graduated from Northland in the spring of 2000.

In 2001 the Lord opened the door to serve as youth pastor at Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church. It has been an honor to serve there from 2001 until the present.  Although we were friends for years, it was during this time that I fell in love with my beautiful wife Sarah. We married in the summer of 2003 and continued serving at Gospel Lighthouse together.

In the fall of 2004 God laid it on our hearts to return to Venezuela.  Since childhood my wife and I both have felt strongly that the Lord was leading us to serve Him in missions and in 2004 He confirmed that through our trip to Venezuela. We are certain that He has led us to take the gospel to Venezuela.

Throughout my high school and college years I had the privilege of serving the Lord in many capacities including bus ministry, children’s ministry, teen ministry, home Bible studies, college outreach ministry, camp ministry and music ministry.  My desire is to be used in whatever capacity the Lord desires in order to take the gospel to those who have never heard.

I was raised in a Christian home where Jesus Christ was the center of everything.  By watching my parents I saw what it really meant to follow Him.  I was taught that I could serve the Lord even at such a young age.

When I was five years old, I realized my personal need for Jesus while attending a tent revival meeting.  I knew what I needed to do. I needed to confess my sins and give the Lord my heart so He could be King of my life. Since that night, I have never doubted that I was born again.

I had the blessing of being enrolled in Calvary Christian school which has a strong missions focus. Missionaries were in our church all the time, and many times they came over to our house for meals. All of this had an incredible impact on the life of a ten-year-old girl. One year during a mission’s conference, I realized that the Lord wanted me involved in missions.  Ever since then I have been excited at the thought of serving Him in this capacity.

During my senior year in high school our graduating class took a missions trip to Venezuela. I enjoyed every aspect of the ministry.  I loved attending the services and the Bible studies that the Arcé family led. I was incredibly impressed with their work, and saw their excitement for the Lord. At that point I never realized that one day I would be back.

Since that time I have been involved in Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church where my father is the pastor. I have had the privilege of working in children’s ministries, bus ministries, teaching Sunday school, working with the youth department, and whatever other jobs were available. I love being involved and serving the Lord.

Although I have known Jason for years, I grew to know him better as he ministered at our church as the youth pastor. We were married in the summer of 2003 and since that time we have felt God call us back to Venezuela to serve Him as missionaries.

I am excited to serve alongside my husband in church planting, soul winning, children’s ministries, and ladies’ ministries, and in any other capacity that the Lord chooses to use us. The Lord has truly blessed my life, and I can’t wait to continue serving Him in Venezuela.
